WINBURN, Mary (Melton)

Mary Melton Winburn 86, passed away September 20, 2010, after a long thirteen year illness. Born in Caddo, TX on November 25, 1923. Her family moved to Chickasha, OK., where her grandparents William J. Melton, MD and Lula Melton lived. There she attended school and Oklahoma College for Women. When she married, she and her husband Richard G. Winburn, Sr. moved to New York City at the end of WWII. Moving to Dallas in 1953, the family enjoyed a vibrant Neiman Marcus where her husband worked. She lived in Oklahoma City and attended All Soul's Episcopal Church. She lived her last eight years in Bedford, TX. Preceded in death by her parents W.E. Melton, Sr and V. Maude Melton; and her brother W.E. Melton, Jr. Survived by two sons Richard G. Winburn (Bedford, TX) and Charles Davis Winburn (Oklahoma City, OK). Cousin L. Jimmy Davis (Bedford, TX), two nieces and two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Thanks to faithful caregivers Freida Bacon and Vivian Hightower.
