ZACHRITZ, Mary

Mary Zachritz was born January 13, 1921 in the oil capital of the world which was then, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had a very unusual and exciting childhood. Her father, Ted, had a dance band, entitled Ted Wilmot's Gloom Chasers. Mary graduated from Classen High in 1939, attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and then O.U. working toward her music degree. She was a member of Nichols Hills Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She was also active in Tulsa Opera Company, Canterbury Choral Society, Lyric Theatre Company, R.A.I.N. and president of U.M.W. for many years. Mary worked for Weight Watchers of Oklahoma for over 25 year and traveled the state opening new classes and helping people lose weight. Mary is survived by 3 sons, Mike, Tom (deceased) and Joe and many loving grandchildren. Memorials should go to the Nichols Hills UMC church Choir. The funeral will be held 1:30 P.M. Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.
