Judy Page Spencer, age 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Mangum, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 30, 2011, in Louisville. Mrs. Spencer was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on December 19, 1936, to Dewitt and Rachel (Robertson) Chitwood. An only child, Judy graduated as the 1954, Class Valedictorian of Mangum High School. In 1957, she graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women and began her first job working for the Texas Fashions Magazine in Dallas, Texas. While working in Dallas, she met Perry H.
Cora Pauline Freeman was born on March 31, 1921 in Velma, Okla., to Felin S. Snow and Viola Reeves Snow. She passed from this life on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in Stillwater, Okla., having reached the age of 91 years, and four days. She married Floyd H. Freeman on March 27, 1943 in El Reno, Okla., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2004. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, and worked as a bookkeeper for the United Community Action Program Headstart for twenty-seven years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pawnee.
Funeral Mass for Mary Pauline Reed Frey, 95, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Mary Pauline Reed Frey died peacefully on March 24, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Wichita, Kan., where she had been living for the last year. She was the fourth child of seven born to William Washington Reed and Lela Turner Reed on July 3, 1916 in Oklahoma City. She was educated in Oklahoma City and graduated from Classen High School in 1934. Her family moved to Chickasha where she attended Oklahoma College for Women (USAO).
Roberta Boone (Hutson) "Bobbie" Wilson died on March 12, 2012, at the age of 81 after suffering a stroke. She was in Tucson, Ariz., with her husband of 61 years at her side. Bobbie was born on Oct. 3, 1930, in Hobart, Okla., the daughter of Kathryn (Boon) Hutson and Percy Hutson. After graduating from Chickasha High School, she attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha for two years, leaving to work for the local newspaper. She married her high-school sweetheart, James Allison Wilson (Jim) of Chickasha, Okla., on Oct. 12, 1950.
Graveside service for Larry D. Boyd, 62, Sulphur, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faxon Cemetery, Faxon, with Kenny Palmer officiating. Larry passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, in Sulphur. Arrangements are by Hales Krien Funeral Home. Larry was born May 14, 1949, to George I. and Thelma Pierce Boyd, in Grandfield. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Infantry during the Vietnam War, where he was wounded in action on Jan. 13, 1968. Larry later retired from the military. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from U.S.A.O.
Elsie Marie Fletcher Mason Funeral for Elsie Marie Fletcher Mason, 73, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Roger Alford, the Rev. Leodis Strong and the Rev. Ruth Holmes officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Fort Sill Post Cemetery, where she will join her late husband, Willie Mason. She died Monday, March 12, 2012, in Lawton. Elsie Marie Fletcher was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Chickasha, to Theodore and Gertrude Glasker Fletcher. She attended Lincoln School in Chickasha and graduated as salutatorian of her class in May 1956.
Irma Lee Caldwell Irma Lee Caldwell peacefully entered her eternal home on Sunday March 4th at Good Life Senior Care Center. She was born February 8, 1926 in Washington, Kansas. She graduated from high school in Shawnee, Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor's Degree at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma and a Master's Degree at ENMU in Portales. On October 25, 1946 she married Hoyt Caldwell at Purcell, Ok. Irma Lee shared her musical talents in a forty-year teaching career, most of which was at the Lovington Public Schools.
Greta Elizabeth (Carter) Blanton passed away peacefully Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Texas-Health Presbyterian-Wilson N. Jones Hospital, Sherman, Texas. Services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church in El Reno, Okla. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. Mrs. Blanton was born in El Reno, November 5, 1920 to Joseph Leroy Carter and Viola Elizabeth (Hayner) Carter. She graduated from El Reno High School in 1937, attended the Oklahoma College for Women from 1937-39 and then graduated from the University of Oklahoma in the Class of 1942. As a brilliant scholar, Mrs.
Mrs. Dorothy Sue (Hatch) Gribble passed away on Feb. 29, 2012, in Oklahoma City at 94 years old. She was born in Eldorado on Jan. 26, 1918, to Frank Alpheus (F.A.) and Theresa Welch (Wood) Hatch. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1935. Following high school, she attended what was at that time the Oklahoma College for Women (now USAO) in Chickasha. She graduated in 1939 with degree in mathematics and teaching. Dorothy Sue married Fred Gribble at her parents home in Eldorado on Dec. 24, 1939. They lived in Eldorado until Fred entered the service during World War II.
Funeral for Ernie B. Stormer, Texas City, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, 1601 S.W. Dr. Charles Whitlow Dr., Lawton, with Dr. Charles Whitlow officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, under direction of Serenity Funerals, Fort Worth, Texas. Ernie, a retired United States Postal Worker, transitioned from life to eternity on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, in Texas City, Texas. Ernie enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and toured the world.
