GREEN, Donne N. (Baker)

Donne Nel Green, 86, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at her home in Muskogee. Born in Lee's Summit, Missouri, on October 5, 1926, she was the daughter of Fred and Jewel Baker. She attended school in Madill and Frederick, Oklahoma, and graduated from Oklahoma College for Women, (OCW) Chickasha, in 1947 with a B. A. in mathematics. Following graduation, she was employed at the Oklahoma State Department of Health in Oklahoma City. She and Dr. James Lanis Green, Jr. were married October 21, 1950, in Oklahoma City.

JONES, Mary "Frances"

Mary “Frances” Jones, 70, of Amarillo died Sunday, April 7, 2013. Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m Thursday in Craig Methodist Retirement Center Chapel in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Frances was born April 20, 1942, in Quanah to Hattie Isaacks Jones and Green Webster Jones. She was raised in Eldorado, Okla., where she graduated as valedictorian from Eldorado High School with numerous academic scholarships.

PIERCE, Mildred (Turner)

Mildred Pierce, resident of Ponca City and former resident of Tulsa, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Via Christi Village. She was 95 years old. The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 5, at Restland Cemetery in Boswell. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory. Mildred was born on Sept. 28, 1917, to the late George Turner and Lola Slinkard in Bokchito. She graduated from Ardmore High School in 1930, and attended the Oklahoma College of Women and majored in elementary education. Mildred was married to Clark P.

NIDELL, Millie A. (Thurman)

Millie Anna Thurman Nidell was born November 22, 1926 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma the daughter of George Earl and Laura Bell (Hall) Thurman. She completed this life on March 6, 2013 in Oklahoma City's Lackey Manor at the age of 86. Millie attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma before completing a Master's degree in Education at Central State University in Edmond. She was a school teacher in the Oklahoma City Public Schools prior to moving to Lake Eufaula where she lived for almost forty years. She was both a bipolar and four-time cancer survivor.

HICKS, Edward C.

CHICKASHA -- Chickasha restaurateur Ed Hicks, a former member of the USAO Board of Regents, died early Friday. Appointed by Gov. Frank Keating, Hicks served on USAO’s governing board from 1999-2006.

Services are scheduled March 20 at 2 p.m. in Te Ata Memorial Auditorium on the campus of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha.

SCOTT, Jacque L. (Corder)

A memorial service celebrating the life of Jacque Corder Scott will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Epworth Methodist Church, Chickasha, Oklahoma, with Dr. Rockford Johnson officiating. Jacque departed this life on April 3, 2013 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 72. Born in Keota, Oklahoma, on May 2, 1940, she was the daughter of Margaret Elizabeth Overstreet and Robert Lee Corder. Jacque's family moved to Durant, Oklahoma, where she started as a first grader and graduated as a proud member of the 1958 class of Durant High School.

WILLIAMSON, Ethel B. (Sampley)

Ethel Berniece Williamson, 75, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in Oklahoma City. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. The family will receive friends at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday. Ethel was born Sunday, February 13, 1938 in Rush Springs, to Willie Sampley and Bonnie (Evans)Sampley. She lived most of her life in the Rush Springs area.

DYE, Lahoma H. (Humble)

Memorial for Lahoma Humble Bard Dye, 98, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wesley Chapel, southwest of Lawton with the Rev. Royce Littrell officiating. Mrs. Dye passed into His heavenly presence Friday, April 12, 2013, in Lawton. Private burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home, Frederick. Private burial will be held prior to the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Lahoma Humble Bard Dye lived a long, full, and rewarding life. She passed into his heavenly presence at 7:30 p.m.

BERNDT, Erma Jean (Moore)

Erma Jean Berndt August 26, 1921 - March 15, 2013 Erma Jean Berndt went home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 15, 2013, in Beaumont, Texas. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be Monday, March 18, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Erma Jean was born August 26, 1921, in Mangum, Oklahoma, to Judson and Jennie Moore. She spent her early years in Granite, Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school.

KNUDSEN, Ellen (Stoltenberg)

Ellen Stoltenberg Knudsen passed away in Orem, Utah, on March 15, 2013, surrounded by her adoring family. Ellen was born on a farm outside Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, on July 8, 1925, to Richard Heinrich Stoltenberg, a German immigrant, and Grace Talbot, a school teacher who instilled a love of good books. Ellen earned a degree in English from Oklahoma College for Women and then moved to Utah, where her sister, Marian Wright, introduced her to a strapping young dairy farmer, Albert Andrew Knudsen, at the milk parlor of the Knudsens' Lake Front Jersey Farm on the lower Provo River.
