USAO Presents Theatre, Concerts in Fall Lineup

CHICKASHA – When it comes to music and theatre, the University of Science and Arts is preparing for a myriad of events this fall. Multiple band and choir concerts, as well as a premiere opera and the semester’s first play, are slated for the fall’s performing arts agenda at USAO.

USAO Invites Community to Join Paris, Alps Trip

CHICKASHA – Ancient castles, world famous art collections and snowcapped mountains are just a few of the sights on the itinerary for an upcoming European tour. As one of several trips planned for next spring, the University of Science and Arts is extending an invitation to the community to join students and faculty for a tour of France, Germany and the Swiss Alps.

An informational meeting about the trip is open to the public Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. in Davis Hall 107.

‘Ceramic Showdown’ Sale Features Exotic Pottery

CHICKASHA – Zigzags, spiral patterns and smooth curves line the Davis Hall third floor art gallery in the form of ceramic sculptures currently on display at the University of Science and Arts. Through Oct. 13, a new art show exhibits colorful handmade vases, plates and cups swimming with a variety of patterns and textures. The pieces are being sold to the public to help support an artistic cause.

Campus Charities Seek Books, Women’s Clothing

CHICKASHA – Two college charities seeking donations for children and low-income women are calling on the community for support. Campus organizations Books for Tots and the Feminist Collective are seeking donations of children’s books and women’s clothing, respectively.

USAO Welcomes Nine New Faculty Members

CHICKASHA – Oklahoma’s only public liberal arts university is taking advantage of new state funding and an internal strategic roadmap by bolstering its fall semester with nine new faculty members.
