Betty Ann Bryan Schwarz, 86, of Marlow, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, in Marlow. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Stephens United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ruth Atterberry officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Betty was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Chickasha, the daughter of Ralph Guyer and Annie Eliza Miles Bryan. She married A.J. Schwarz on Oct. 3, 1942, in Duncan. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 2008.After earning her bachelors degree in education from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Betty taught high school English.

She had also been employed with the Department of Human Services as a social worker and was a homemaker. She was involved for many years with the Marlow Samaritans, loved her grandchildren and the Dallas Cowboys. Betty was a member of Stephens United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Alana Schwarz of Edmond; three daughters: Jean Hull and her husband, Marlin, and Nona Johnson, all of Bethany, and Amy Canoy and husband, Rusty, of Lexington; a sister, Elizabeth Brittain of Colorado; and 19 grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Lee Schwarz.
