The Drovers are solving the problem of graduating too many pitchers one player at a time.
The baseball team signed a left-handed pitcher from Shawnee High School on Tuesday.
Dakota Blanchard, 18, has agreed to play baseball for the Drovers next year. He is a pitcher and first baseman.
While in high school, Blanchard was a two-sport athlete, playing both baseball and football. He helped his baseball team become the 2008 and the 2009 Regional Champions. He received the 2009 Baseball Spirit and Desire Award and was named the 2010 U.S. Army National Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Blanchard plans to major in secondary education and social studies at USAO.
He is the son of Joseph and Twyla Blanchard, of Shawnee.
