Drovers fall to the Rangers

CHICKASHA – The Drovers couldn’t overcome the Rangers in the nine-inning game on Thursday afternoon and sit at 1-1 against Northwestern Oklahoma State this season.

USAO defeated Northwestern 10-9 with a walk off homer in early March. They play the third game against the Rangers in Alva on Tuesday.

The Drovers struggled to make contact with the ball on Thursday, coming out with just three hits on the day — two by first baseman Zach Gonzalez and one by left fielder Brian Vigo.

Adam Wilson spent eight innings on the mound and threw four strikeouts.

The Rangers won 4-0. USAO is 19-16 on the season and 10-10 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

They move on to play Mid-America Christian at home at 3 p.m. Friday and in a doubleheader in Oklahoma City beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday.
