CHICKASHA – After an entire college career of proving himself both on the mound and in the classroom, Caleb Martin was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
He is the third Drover baseball player ever to receive this honor.
Martin, now a business administration graduate, pitched four seasons for the Drovers, grabbing several career pitching records at USAO.
He holds the career wins record with 30 and the career strikeouts record with 243. This season alone, he threw nearly 85 innings and 75 strikeouts. He also pitched eight complete games in 2011 and 21 for his career.
Additionally, Martin maintained a 3.50 GPA throughout his time in college balancing baseball and academia. In April, he was named a Bill and Pat Smith Scholar-Athlete, an exclusive award given out to one male and one female recipient at USAO each year.
Martin, from Duncan, graduated in April. He is the son of Stan and Julie Martin and the husband of Lisa.
