CHICKASHA – Led by three home runs and eight RBIs from senior Kevin Carby the University of Science and Arts took both games of Monday’s doubleheader against Hillsdale College by run-rule. With the 15-1 and 10-0 victories, USAO improved to 31-10 on the season.
CHICKASHA – With a two-run single by Joe Burnell and a two-run home run from Kevin Carby in the seventh inning, the University of Science and Arts wrestled away Friday’s series finale from St. Gregory’s 10-6. The Drovers swept SGU after taking Thursday’s doubleheader 11-3 and 18-7.
CHICKASHA – Senior Brandt Lierle hammered three home runs and broke the single-season home run record, but the University of Science and Arts came up short in Tuesday’s game against I-44 rival Cameron. USAO fell to 26-10 overall after the 16-11 loss.
CHICKASHA – After the best start in school history and moving into third place in the conference, the University of Science and Arts’ baseball team found themselves ranked in the NAIA national top-25 for the first time Wednesday.
PLAINVIEW, Texas – Despite four errors, the University of Science and Arts cranked out 19 hits to beat No. 19 Wayland Baptist 12-10 in Sunday’s series finale. USAO took the final two games of the series to give the Drovers a very legitimate shot at cracking the top-25 with a 26-6 record overall and 10-5 record in conference.
PLAINVIEW, Texas – Led by a two-hit complete-game shutout performance including 10 strikeouts by junior pitcher Nate Hammons, the University of Science and Arts defeated No. 19 Wayland Baptist 5-0 in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader. USAO had to settle for a split as WBU took game one 17-14.
CHICKASHA – Scoring the winning run in the sixth inning of game one and a run-rule win in game two, the University of Science and Arts took both games of Saturday’s doubleheader at Bill Smith Ballpark. USAO defeated Calumet College of St. Joseph 3-2 in game one and 12-0 in game two to improve to 21-5 overall.
