CHICKASHA – Adding to a forming 2011-12 squad, the Drover men’s basketball team recently signed Mustang High School all-star Ben Berry.
The 6-foot-3 forward was a top scorer and strong defender for the Mustang Broncos. He averaged 13.1 points and 5.6 rebounds a game. For his defensive efforts, he was selected as Metro Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
The 2010-11 was one of Mustang’s best seasons on its way to a 22-5 record and a peak in the top five in the state in 6A basketball.
Head Coach Brisco McPherson said he thinks Berry will prove to be a good fit for the Drovers.
“He’s going to be a good player for us,” McPherson said. “I think we signed one of the top high school players in the city area.”
