While the men’s basketball team may only have three wins under it’s belt, Coach Brisco McPherson says the team is merely learning how to play ball at the college level.
“It’s going to be a learning experience the rest of the year for these guys,” he said. “This is all new to these guys and they’re learning the hard way. This is a tough league.”
He said many of the players just need to get up to the pace of college play, especially in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
“We’ve got a brand new team, and it shows, it shows when we play,” he said.
With a team of mostly freshman and sophomore players, McPherson compared them to the National Championship team, which also started out young.
McPherson, who’s been the basketball coach for 18 seasons, said he still enjoys his players and the practices.
