Second half makes the difference in Saturday win

CHICKASHA — The Drover men delivered yet another home win on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Saint Gregory's Cavaliers at home despite a rough start.

The Drovers trailed the entire first half before forcing a tie less than a minute before halftime. The Drovers took their first lead of the game a few minutes into the second half, a lead they maintained — except for three ties — all but once.

USAO’s last nine points of the game came off free throws. The Drovers won the game 66-60.

Kyle Hunt led the pack with his seventh double double of the season, knocking in 18 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in the game. He went 6-for-7 from the line.

Phillip Harris had another 15 points for the Drovers, and true freshman Ben Berry had 12 in the game.

The Drovers are 10-5 overall and 6-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Drovers sit at fourth in the SAC standings and are currently receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll.

The Drovers have six games away next on the horizon. They travel next to Mid-America Christian at 8 p.m. ThursdayThey won’t play at home again until taking on John Brown on Feb. 4. Tip off for that game will be at 5 p.m.
