CHICKASHA– In the first weekend of the season, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma men’s basketball team (0-2) had a rough game against (20) Evangel University (1-1) at the SGU Classic in Shawnee.
In the end, the final score was one-sided as the Evangels took the 83-57 victory over the Drovers, but the game began close as both teams trading baskets before Evangel went on a rally.

CHICKASHA – Each year as Chickasha gets colder, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma begins to go mad in anticipation for Drover basketball season and the school’s annual pep rally, Drover Madness.
Always the week of the season opener, Madness is set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the USAO Fieldhouse. The event is free and open to the public.
CHICKASHA – The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma men’s basketball team was picked to come in ninth in the Sooner Athletic Conference, according to the preseason coaches’ poll released Monday.
“Given the fact that they lost so much offensive firepower out of last year’s team and what we look like on paper, that’s probably a fair assessment,” Drover Head Coach Doug Hall said.
CHICKASHA – The first men’s basketball coach at and former Regent of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, John Hudson, was named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics 2015 Hall of Fame class this week.
The NAIA selected Hudson, current commissioner of the Sooner Athletic Conference, for the Meritorious Service category.
CHICKASHA – NCAA Division I coach, Doug Hall, is set to begin his first season with the Drovers as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
“I’d like to thank the administration for having the confidence in me and the opportunity to lead the basketball program,” Hall said. “I feel like my background as a head coach at a similar school makes it a good fit.”
CHICKASHA – A national search for a head men’s basketball coach at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma begins Monday after Vinson Metcalf resigned on Thursday afternoon citing personal and family reasons.
Assistant Coach Chris Francis will serve as interim head coach, mentored by former head coach and current athletic director, Brisco McPherson.
