CHICKASHA — The Drover men left little room for error in a Saturday evening contest against conference foe Oklahoma Christian and took the game into overtime before winning it 81-79.

The Drovers were trailing by one at half and came back with just as much power in the second half, pulling out a lead within a minute. The lead changed several times in the second half.

CHICKASHA — The Drover men battled tough to continue their four-game winning streak against the Chaps on Monday afternoon at the USAO Fieldhouse and grabbed an 82-67 victory.

Senior Kyle Hunt double doubled for the fourth time this season with 15 points and 14 rebounds in the game. He went six of nine from the field and three for four from the line.

CHICKASHA — Emotions were high Saturday afternoon at the USAO Fieldhouse as the Drovers and the Wayland Baptist Pioneers teams battled for one more win in 2011 — a win the Drovers earned with mere seconds left in regulation.

In their first game back for the spring semester, the Drover men led the Pioneers 39-30 at half. Wayland Baptist rallied from behind to bring the game within three for most of the second half.

The Drovers forced an upset in a Saturday afternoon game against No. 13 Southern Nazarene to close out the semester.

CHICKASHA – After collecting 54 points and 21 rebounds in two games last week, Kyle Hunt was named Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

CHICKASHA – Senior Kyle Hunt led the Drovers to a first conference win on Saturday against Mid-America Christian in a home battle.

Grabbing his second double double of the season, Hunt scored a whopping 36 points and had 16 rebounds in the 95-89 win over the Evangels. He led the team in both categories after going 13 for 17 from the field and scoring 10 of his 12 free throws.

CHICKASHA – In a tough conference opener, the Drovers fall to the Oklahoma City Stars on Thursday night at the USAO Fieldhouse.

The Drover men continue to prove their athleticism this year but were unable to overcome the Stars, who won the game 75-64.

After falling behind in the first half, the Drovers brought the game back within six but were unable to keep the lead.

CHICKASHA – In the Saddle has evolved over the years to become a fun face of USAO sports and a way for the community members to get to know the Drover athletes and coaches.

CHICKASHA – Early in the season, the outlook for the Drover men’s basketball team is positive, especially in the eyes of junior Graham Faulkner.

“It’s been going well. We’ve been working hard ever since we’ve gotten here at school,” Faulkner said. “Also, just when you’ve got good guys with talent that work that hard, a lot of good things will happen.”

CHICKASHA – In a game filled with shots for the highlight reel, the Drover men defeated NCAA Division II No. 11 University of Central Oklahoma in USAO’s home opener Wednesday night.
