CHICKASHA — As with most student-athletes at USAO, Dakota Webster has talent both on the court and off.

Two Drover men were named basketball All-Conference athletes in the Sooner Athletic Conference this week.

The Drovers were unable to top the high-ranked Bison, despite tough efforts by both teams.

While it’s been a rebuilding year for USAO basketball, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Vinson Metcalf said the team has the talent and is just learning to play hard.

USAO gave No. 17 Oklahoma City a run for its money Thursday night, coming within five points of tying the game at the last buzzer.

The Drovers came back from a 20-point deficit to pull the game within one with two minutes left but were unable to pull off a win Monday night.

Can’t make it to Lubbock, Texas, on Thursday to watch your USAO Drovers play basketball?

It was a tale of two halves Saturday night against Northwestern Oklahoma State University and one Drover team earned a victory.

Despite trouble this season for the men’s basketball team, junior forward Aaron Daniels said the team has a successful future ahead.

Both Drover and Lady Drover games came down to the wire Wednesday night, and USAO could not pull out the victory either time.
