CHICKASHA – The Drover men’s basketball team had a great season with an NAIA National Tournament trip to top it off, something assistant coach Vinson Metcalf said the team sets out to do each season.
“It’s the same as it’s always been. USAO, since I’ve been here, we have been to the national tournament six of the last 12 years,” he said. “Just making it to the national tournament is a great feat in itself.”
CHICKASHA – Averaging nearly 16 points a game, senior Norris Rumph’s performance on the court this season earned him NAIA All-America Second Team honors, the NAIA released Wednesday.
“I think it’s a tribute to him. He put the time in to make himself better, and he was the leader of our team,” said Brisco McPherson, head men’s basketball coach. “I’m happy that he was able to accomplish that. He worked at it.”
