CHICKASHA – The Drover men’s cross country season made its debut for USAO after more than 15 years in hibernation with four runners competing in the UCO Land Run on Saturday morning.
The meet consisted of a six-kilometer dash. There were 59 runners in attendance.
Freshman Jeffrey Poolaw, from Anadarko, scored USAO’s best time at 24:54.18. Less than a minute behind him was Kieran Brennan, a junior from England, who posted a time of 25:36.83.
Junior Aaron Manuel and senior Chisum Lane came in next for the Drovers with times of 27:38.79 and 29:39.66 respectively.
“Today gave me better insight into what kind of competition we will face this season and also what my runners need to work on now,” Head Coach Leandra Johnson said.
Because it only had four runners competing, USAO did not qualify for team scores.
The Drovers next meet is at Oklahoma City University on Sept. 22.
