Drover men move to No. 15

CHICKASHA – After two weekend shutouts, the Drover men jumped up five spots in the NAIA national rankings.

The Drovers are now ranked No. 15 in the country.

During a tournament in Tennessee, the Drovers defeated Delta State University 2-0 and Emmanuel College 4-0.

Drover freshman Nicolas Alberto scored a goal in each game. Other scorers were Niall Crick, Nikola Cakarevic, Dusan Rasovic and Daniel Gibson. Goalkeeper Ryan Mcentee played all 180 minutes in the two games and recorded two saves.

The Drover women also won both games over the weekend, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Delta State 3-2 and shutting out Emmaunel 5-0. The women remain just below the Top 25 nationally.

The men play at home this weekend in two games. They take on Brescia University at 3 p.m. Friday and the Saint Thomas at 4 p.m. Saturday. The women won’t return home until Sept. 24.
