CHICKASHA – Scoring four unanswered goals in the second half, the Drover men earned their seventh consecutive shutout on Friday afternoon at Drover Pitch.

Taking on Friends University, the Drovers battled the quickness of the Falcons the solid 45 minutes. The teams went into halftime scoreless.

The short break seemed to be all the Drovers needed to kick up the game. Just minutes after the second half, USAO’s lone senior, Kris Andrews, found one of the Drovers’ top scorers Perry Sansford for a goal.

Less than five minutes after that, the team’s other top scorer, Nicolas Alberto, whizzed one by the Falcons’ keeper for an unassisted goal.

Alberto turned around with another goal later in the game off an assist by Kalokwera Okot. Both Alberto and Sansford have eight goals on the season.

With just over five minutes left in the game, Stephen Owusu scored his fifth goal of the season off an assist by freshman Kyle Maxwell. The Drovers won 4-0.

Keeper Bryan Byars, who leads the nation in goals against percentage (0.24), earned his seventh win and seventh shutout with three saves in the game.

The Drovers, ranked fifth in the NAIA, advance to 7-0-2 overall.

USAO now will continue their conference action at home against Rogers State at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
