Drovers overpower the Hillcats

CHICKASHA – The Drover men continue to prove they are a force to be reckoned with this season with another big conference win on Tuesday afternoon.

The Drover men played a solid 90 minutes of ball and earned a victory that propels the team to a still undefeated conference record.

Just four minutes into the game Kris Andrews scored USAO’s first goal off a double assist by Scott Parkinson and Niall Crick. Parkinson then turned around and scored the team’s next goal seven minutes later off another Crick assist.

The Drovers went into halftime up 2-0, but Andrews striking again in the first four minutes of play gave the Drovers a 3-0 lead. Perry Sansford assisted that goal.

Before the game was over, USAO had scored two more goals, one by Kalokwera Okot, assisted by Nicolas Alberto, and the other by Parkinson, assisted by Okot.

USAO came out with a 5-0 clean sheet and starting keeper Bryan Byars earned his sixth shutout and 10th win of the season.

The Drovers have an overall record of 11-3 and are 7-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The Drovers head to Siloam Springs, Ark., to take on John Brown on Saturday before returning home for Senior Day on Tuesday against Southern Nazarene. Kick off is at 3 p.m.
