CHICKASHA – The No. 5 USAO Drovers didn’t allow a single shot against them in a Friday afternoon 7-0 shutout over the Bethany College at Drover Pitch.

It took mere minutes for the Drovers to strike. Just four minutes into the game, freshman Liam Madden scored his first goal of the season off an assist by team captain Nicolas Alberto.

Five minutes later, Perry Sansford scored another for USAO off a double assist by Alberto and Kalokwera Okot. Again, less than four minutes later, defender Sam Rimmer scored off an assist by Luka Rasovic.

It was 25 minutes before the Drovers found the net again. Ryan Clougherty found the net for an unassisted goal right before half and the Drovers went into halftime leading 4-0.

Striking in the second half for the Drovers was Jean Gnapi, off a double assist by Okot and Niall Burley.

Sansford then scored again, this time off an assist by Madden. Okot added the final piece to the puzzle with a seventh goal with an assist by Stephen Owusu.

For the game, the Drovers had 40 shots without allowing a single one. Bryan Byars earned his fifth shutout and fifth win of the season.

The Drovers advance to 5-0-2. This is the team’s fifth shut out in a row.

Their next game will be the conference opener against Saint Gregory’s at 2 p.m. Thursday at Drover Pitch.
