USAO continues to prepare for season through exhibitions

CHICKASHA – With temperatures topping 108 degrees Wednesday afternoon, the Drover men battled in a second exhibition game, this time against Oklahoma Wesleyan.

While the Drovers did have some trouble communicating and working together, they were able to connect at the end of the first half when newcomer Alex Rubio found freshman Graham Hunter for a goal.

The Drovers gave up Oklahoma Wesleyan’s only goal just 10 minutes after the second half started. The teams battled for another half hour before the Drovers punched two more in right before the end of the game.

Luka Rasovic found Perry Sansford for a quick goal and minutes later, just seconds before the end of the game, Modesto Arostegui subbed in and immediately found the net.

Newcomer Brian Byars and junior Ryan Mcentee split time in the box, each playing a half.

The Drovers have a few more weeks of practice before starting the season on the road at Lyon College in Arkansas on Sept. 3. They play their home opener against Texas College on Sept. 8.
