CHICKASHA – Helping the Drovers in 10 of their 11 shutouts this season and scoring six total goals on the season, sophomore Scott Parkinson was named Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive MVP for the 2011 season.
Along with helping hold the back line all season, Parkinson is tied as the team’s third leading scorer this season. He scored the game-winning goal early in the season in a 3-0 win over Texas Wesleyan.
CHICKASHA – Eager to prove their worth at top seed, the Drover men scored two goals against the Bison on Monday afternoon to send themselves to the Sooner Athletic Conference Finals and keep their national tournaments hopes alive.
CHICKASHA – Epitomizing student-athlete, three USAO Drover soccer players were named Capitol One Academic All-District on Friday.
To earn the honor, athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher, be at least of sophomore status and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games. One Drover man, Niall Crick, and two Drover women, Leslie Bross and Gabby Barros, earned the honor.
CHICKASHA – Anchoring a back line that had two shutouts and serving as one of USAO’s leading scorers in two conference games earned Scott Parkinson the Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player the Week award.
In a 5-0 home win over Rogers State, Parkinson and the back line limited the Hillcats to just two shots on goal in the entire game. Additionally, Parkinson knocked two goals in himself and had an assist in the shutout....
CHICKASHA – In their last regular season home game, the Drover men came in with a ninth conference win to continue undefeated in the Sooner Athletic Conference with the shutout of Southern Nazarene on Tuesday afternoon.
The Drovers fought a tough battle but spent most of the game on the attack, outshooting their opponents 30-7. USAO, however, had a hard time finding the net until Perry Sansford scored in the 70th minute of the game...
