2010-11: Kartel attended Ealing Hammersmith West London College for two seasons, playing right back.

High School: Before college, Kartel attended Holland Park School, where he was named captain of the team and has been named to the Hall of Fame. He helped them to two league titles. He also was named Player of the Year.
