CHICKASHA – USAO softball will host its inaugural summer camp, a two-day intensive softball training camp open to youth ages 8 to 18.
USAO Softball Camp, directed by head softball coach Jadyn Wallis, is scheduled for July 23 and 24.
“We are really excited about the first year of the USAO Softball Camp.” Wallis said. “We will teach young athletes the fundamentals and mechanics that it takes to become the athlete they desire to be.”
Registration for the camp is $70 per athlete, with team discounts of $60 per player. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days with a one-hour break for lunch.
While at the camp, athletes will focus on all aspects of the game, including hitting, fielding, pitching, catching, base running and perhaps most importantly, the mental aspect of the game.
Campers should provide their own sack lunch each day, a glove, a batting helmet and a bat if they have one. Dress for the camp should include a T-shirt, ball pants or shorts and cleats.
Joining Wallis in instructing the camp include assistant coach Ken Richardson and members of the Drover softball team.
