CHICKASHA – The Drovers won both games of a Wednesday afternoon doubleheader against Morningside College to advance to 10-6 on the season.

CHICKASHA – Rogers State was able to take both games against the Drovers in a Tuesday afternoon conference doubleheader at Bill Smith Ballpark.

After giving up some early runs, the Drovers grabbed two of their own in the bottom of first after pitcher Brooke McLeod doubled to center field score lead off hitter Katie Jirak and third baseman Ashley Rasovic.

CHICKASHA – USAO swept the Sooner Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors after a strong doubleheader against Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College last week.

CHICKASHA – Senior pitcher Morgan Bratcher came out with the best game of her career on Tuesday afternoon, throwing a no-hitter on the road against Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College.

Bratcher, a Chickasha native, was just one walk away from a perfect game. In her five innings in the circle, she threw 11 strikeouts on the way to a 14-0 shutout.

CHICKASHA – Bright-eyed and fresh out of high school, David Jennings found a home — and a place to play his beloved sport of golf — at USAO.

Entering college in 1979, Jennings played golf for the Drovers until the program was cut due to budget constraints. He was able to stay at the school continuing on his golf scholarship until he graduated.

CHICKASHA – Softball always has been a major part of Kindra Gregory Palacol’s life. It took her throughout high school, to college, and now well into her successful career in coaching and teaching.

Palacol now finds herself getting to use two of her passions at Norman North High School, in roles as the assistant fast pitch coach and Algebra I teacher.

USAO will celebrate its 40th Anniversary of Drover Athletics in first weekend of November. Registration, which is just $65 for a weekend full of events, is open currently, but prices will increase in less than two weeks. The deadline for early bird registration is Sept. 30.
