CHICKASHA – In an early Thursday doubleheader, the Drovers split with Northwood University Knights, grabbing a win in the second game.

After falling in game one, Neesha Sorrell took over the circle in the second game. She pitched four innings before being relieved by Morgan Singleton, who pitched the remaining three.

CHICKASHA – Southern Nazarene, now second in conference standings, proved too much for the Drovers on Tuesday afternoon in a Chickasha doubleheader.

CHICKASHA – Giving up just one hit in two shutouts, senior Liz Agpalo was named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week.

Agpalo pitched two complete games this week, earning a career first no-hitter against Benedictine College. She threw seven strikeouts in that game and was a hit batsman away from a perfect game. The Drovers went on to win that game 8-0 in five innings.

CHICKASHA — The Drover softball team grabbed a fourth win in the Festival in February tournament in Chickasha with a 7-2 victory over Sterling College.

In the Saturday game, the Drovers struck first with runs by Chelsea Zuchnik, Katie Jirak, Ashley Mitchell and Liz Agpalo.

Jirak had a second run in the next inning, followed by USAO’s next two batters — Skyler Nichols and Markie LaFerney.

CHICKASHA – On Friday afternoon, the Drovers hosted the first day of their second annual Festival in February softball tournament at the Chickasha Sports Complex — and they claimed three more victories.

Facing McPherson College twice and Sterling College once, the Drovers went 3-0 on the day. Lubbock Christian, a SAC team the Drovers faced twice Thursday, is the other team participating in the tournament.

CHICKASHA – The Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps proved their No. 7 preseason ranking with two wins over the Drovers on Thursday afternoon at Bill Smith Ballpark.

USAO struggled against the Chaps in game 1 and fell in game two despite a late rally.

CHICKASHA – The Drovers split on Tuesday afternoon at home against No. 25 Oklahoma Christian after mounting a comeback with seven unanswered runs late in the second game.

In game two, USAO struck first when Brooke McLeod batted in lead off hitter Skyler Nichols in the bottom of the first. The Drovers then gave up seven runs and were down 7-1 entering the bottom of the fourth. And that's when something clicked for USAO.


CHICKASHA – Entering her third season, Coach Jenn White is excited to see what her group of players will do this time around.

“I expect to see a better team than I’ve seen since I’ve been here,” she said. “I expect to see more experience this year, more aggressive play. I’m just really excited about this team.”

“I think we’ll see a different kind of Drover softball team,” Head Coach Jennifer White said. “These girls are going to be more aggressive. They know how to play the game. I think we’re going to be more competitive.”
