CHICKASHA – Giving up just one hit in two shutouts, senior Liz Agpalo was named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week.
Agpalo pitched two complete games this week, earning a career first no-hitter against Benedictine College. She threw seven strikeouts in that game and was a hit batsman away from a perfect game. The Drovers went on to win that game 8-0 in five innings.
CHICKASHA – On Friday afternoon, the Drovers hosted the first day of their second annual Festival in February softball tournament at the Chickasha Sports Complex — and they claimed three more victories.
Facing McPherson College twice and Sterling College once, the Drovers went 3-0 on the day. Lubbock Christian, a SAC team the Drovers faced twice Thursday, is the other team participating in the tournament.
CHICKASHA – The Drovers split on Tuesday afternoon at home against No. 25 Oklahoma Christian after mounting a comeback with seven unanswered runs late in the second game.
In game two, USAO struck first when Brooke McLeod batted in lead off hitter Skyler Nichols in the bottom of the first. The Drovers then gave up seven runs and were down 7-1 entering the bottom of the fourth. And that's when something clicked for USAO.
