CHICKASHA – The John Brown Golden Eagles bested the Drovers -- despite strong efforts by the USAO women -- in a Satuday afternoon contest.
The Drover women started off with a strong lead but were unable to keep it up against the Eagles and fell 65-56.
Junior Tashina Ototivo had 16 points in the game, including nine from beyond the arc. She also had five rebounds and three steals.
Senior Liberty Payne had another 13 points and five rebounds for the Drovers. Close behind were guards Paige Pulliam and Tabby Bailey with 10 each. Pulliam was also the team’s leading rebounder with eight in the game.
The Drovers move to 5-18 overall and 2-14 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. They move on to play at Saint Gregory’s on Thursday night before returning home to take on Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday.
The Saturday contest will be the second annual Pink Out Cancer game, and the Drover women will be sporting new pink uniforms. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game in lieu of the usual green and gold. Tip off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
