CHICKASHA – Area girls will get their opportunity to improve their basketball skills in Jennifer Hayden’s Basketball Camp this July.
The camp, which runs from July 7 through July 11, offers three-and-a-half hours of daily basketball training focused on improving overall skills. It will take place at the USAO Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
During each day, USAO coaches and players will assist the athletes in ball handling, dribbling, passing, shooting and both offense and defense through drills and team play.
Registration for the camp is $75. Early registration will ensure a place in this year’s camp.
There are two age groups offered in his year’s camp. Girls entering kindergarten through fourth grade will attend from 8:30 a.m. until noon and players from fifth to eighth grade will attend from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Campers will receive a camp T-shirt, and awards will be given to players at each age level in a variety of categories.
Each camper should be prepared by attending in a T-shirt, playing shorts, socks and basketball shoes.
Hayden has coached the Drovers for two seasons and has led her team to the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament both years. She has seen three Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and seven Academic All-Conference selections. Additionally, she coached one player to USAO’s exclusive 1,000-Point Club.
