CHICKASHA — The Drover women took it down to the wire before earning a needed conference and home win in the Saturday contest against Oklahoma Christian.
The game was back and forth the entire 40 minutes as the Drovers battled for the lead. The score was tied seven times and the lead changed 11. The game was tied at 71 all with 1:44 left.
A three-pointer by Tashina Ototivo gave the Drovers their 11th lead of the game with just 36 seconds left. The three-point lead turned into a six-point win after three free throws made by Paige Pulliam.
The Drovers won the game 77-71. It’s the Drovers’ most points in a game this season.
Playing 39 minutes of the game, Ototivo had her first double double of her career with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Pulliam came in as the team’s leading scorer with 25 points in the game. Senior Liberty Payne had another 21 points and six assists for the Drovers.
For the game, the Drovers shot 46.6 percent and limited the Eagles to just 33.8 percent from the field and 29 percent from beyond the arc — an OC strong point.
The Drovers are 4-10 overall and 1-6 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The Drovers head to Shawnee to take on Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night before returning home next Saturday against Saint Gregory’s. Tip off will be at 3 p.m.
