CHICKASHA – The season may very well be turning around for the Drover women, who earned another conference win in front of a home crowd in Saturday afternoon's contest against Saint Gregory's.
The women trailed most of the first half, but entered halftime up by six. Coming out fierce, the Drovers maintained a lead for most of the remainder of the game.
The 11th tie of the day came with just 13 seconds left on the clock when SGU’s Kylie Mayes made a strong three-pointer. Shooting with less than a full second on the clock, USAO’s Tabby Bailey grabbed a layup to give the Drovers the 61-59 win.
Junior Tashina Ototivo had her second double double of the season with a career-high 19 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore Paige Pulliam had another 15 points in the game.
The Drovers are 5-11 overall and 2-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The Drovers have six games away next on the horizon. They travel next to Mid-America Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday. They won’t play at home again until taking on John Brown on Feb. 4. Tip off for that game will be at 3 p.m.
