CHICKASHA – The Drover women battled hard and never gave up, but just couldn’t overcome the powerful No. 2 Lubbock Christian team.

Tough to defend, the Lady Chaps held up to their hype and shot 52 percent from the field in the game.

The Drovers, who scored 54 on the No. 2 team in the country, had 27 bench points as compared to the Chaps’ 23.

Krista Ford led the Drovers with nine points. Tashina Ototivo, a senior from Walters, wasn’t far behind with eight points.

Junior Paige Pulliam, scoring all her buckets in the second half, had seven points and two assists in the game, and Amber Chaney, who played only in the final two minutes also had seven off two threes and a free throw.

Ndeye Ngom led the team in rebounds with seven. She also had five points and two assists.

The Drovers (9-9, 0-6) shot 31.5 percent from the field in the game and had a stronger second half with 32. The Drovers fell 86-54.

The Drovers will play Oklahoma Baptist at home at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Arvest Bank is sponsoring that game.
