The women’s basketball season may be over, but the work certainly isn’t.
Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach Carey Phariss spends much of his time on the road, working the recruit young talent to play at USAO.
The team has signed some high-scorers in the last few months, but Phariss said the loss of Senior Charitie Lewis could make things difficult.
“She’s a machine. People don’t understand all the little things she does on the court,” he said. “She’s going to be hard to replace. I promise you that.”
The Drovers struggled this season but continued to improve as the season progressed, and Phariss said they will prove to be tough competition next year.
“Right now … I wish we could start the season over again,” he said. “In the Sooner Athletic Conference, you’ve got to show up to play every game. If you don’t, you’re going to get beat.”
