CHICKASHA – The final buzzer of the regular season has sounded for the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma women’s basketball team.

It was a tough night for the Drovers (5-18, 4-16), who have played in three other games since last Thursday. The No. 22 Wayland Baptist Flying Queens took the game with a final of 96-44.

CHICKASHA – The Drovers struggled to get a rhythm on Tuesday evening in their Senior Night game against Texas Wesleyan.

It was USAO’s last home game of the season, Senior Night, and the Drovers honored their four seniors: Brittany Elkins, Rashelle Carr, Amber Chaney and Paige Pulliam.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The first half was a good half for the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (5-15, 4-13), but a hot shooting No. 6 Oklahoma City University (18-3,  led to the 102-61 with for the Stars.

In the first half of action, the Drovers shot an impressive 48 percent to go into the locker room down by nine to the highly-ranked team. The Stars, however, heated up in the final 20 minutes to lengthen their lead.

CHICKASHA – Another Sooner Athletic Conference match was kept close on Saturday afternoon before No. 16 John Brown pulled ahead of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma to win it 60-46.

In a game that saw the Drovers (5-14, 4-12) either leading or within one possession for the first 35 minutes, it wasn’t until the final few minutes when the Golden Eagles (20-5, 12-4) pulled ahead.

CHICKASHA – A short bench has yet to come in to play for the Drover women’s basketball team this season. Even with eight active players, the Drovers fail to lose intensity during games.

When Brooke Worcester was injured and had to miss two games, the team battled with seven athletes against top opponents. The key, said senior Rashelle Carr, is working as a single unit.
