CHICKASHA — As one of the hardest working players on the USAO women’s basketball team, junior Tashina Ototivo was named All-Conference Honorable Mention for the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Ototivo led the team in rebounding with 203 rebounds on the season, an average of seven per game. She’s also third on the team in scoring with 271 total points — or 9.35 points per game.

CHICKASHA — Three Drover women scored in double digits in a tough 78-50 loss to Rogers State to end the season.

Sophomore Paige Pulliam and senior Liberty Payne each had 11 points for the Drovers. Junior Tashina Ototivo scored 10 points and had seven rebounds before getting into foul trouble.

The Drovers end the season 5-24 and 2-20 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

CHICKASHA – The focus for this last week of the 2011-12 USAO women’s basketball team, sophomore Natalie Colton says, is defense.

“If we can just be working these last couple practices on defense that’s going to be good,” she said. “It seems like we’re moving forward, even though it’s the end of the season.”

CHICKASHA — Despite double digit scoring by three USAO players, the Drover women couldn't overtake the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers, falling 81-60 on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Paige Pulliam led the team in scoring and rebounding with 19 points and eight rebounds in the game.

Seniors Liberty Payne and Tabby Bailey had another 14 and 17 points respectively.

CHICKASHA — The important cause and special uniforms weren't enough to give the Drover women the edge on Saturday afternoon as the Lady Bison defeated USAO 72-50.

Senior Liberty Payne led the team in scoring with 12 points in the game, and Natalie Colton had another scored 10.

CHICKASHA – On Feb. 11, there will be an explosion of pink at the USAO Fieldhouse.

From on the court to throughout the stands, Drovers and fans will be raising awareness for early and regular cancer screenings with a sea of pink.

CHICKASHA –  The John Brown Golden Eagles bested the Drovers -- despite strong efforts by the USAO women -- in a Satuday afternoon contest.

The Drover women started off with a strong lead but were unable to keep it up against the Eagles and fell 65-56.

Junior Tashina Ototivo had 16 points in the game, including nine from beyond the arc. She also had five rebounds and three steals.

CHICKASHA – Having won their last two home games and feeling a potential momentum switch for the Drover women, senior Liberty Payne said maintains a positive attitude about the rest of the season.

“We are in a tough conference and anything can happen any night, so we just have to stay positive and working hard,” she said.

CHICKASHA – Dr. Jeannette Loutsch and USAO’s Colleges Against Cancer decided to raise awareness of cancer and its devastating effects.

In 2011, she took it a step farther and decided to raise enough money to purchase pink uniforms for the Drover basketball women to don each year at the Pink Game. In February of 2011, she achieved that goal.

CHICKASHA – The season may very well be turning around for the Drover women, who earned another conference win in front of a home crowd in Saturday afternoon's contest against Saint Gregory's.

The women trailed most of the first half, but entered halftime up by six. Coming out fierce, the Drovers maintained a lead for most of the remainder of the game.
