CHICKASHA – USAO’s leading scorer, Rocio Medrano, was named All-Conference Honorable Mention, the Sooner Athletic Conference released Monday.

Medrano, who averages nearly 12 points a game, has scored a total of 333 points and collected 155 rebounds for the season.

She had a season-high 23 points in a conference win over Saint Gregory’s in late January. In that game, she went 9-for-10 from the charity stripe.

CHICKASHA – The Drover women will be competing in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament for the first time since 2009.

The Drovers (10-18) will face eighth-seeded Mid-America Christian (13-14) in a play-in game on at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Oklahoma Baptist is hosting the tournament, and all games will be played at OBU’s Noble Complex.
The winning team will then on go to play top-seed Oklahoma City at 2:15 p.m....

CHICKASHA – In a game that went into overtime for the first time this season for USAO, the Drovers fell just short despite strong shooting and rebounding Saturday afternoon.

Mid-America Christian was able to best the Drovers in an overtime battle that ended 63-62.

The game had only been tied twice by halftime with MACU in control most of the half and leading by two after 20 minutes.

CHICKASHA – Three Drovers scored in the double figures on Thursday night against the No. 1 Oklahoma City Stars but ultimately couldn’t overcome the powerful offense.

The Drovers (10-13, 1-3) jumped off to a 3-2 lead early on but once the Stars got back in control, they led the remainder of the game and won 104-58. OCU (20-2, 12-0) hasn’t lost a game since November.

CHICKASHA – Senior Rocio Medrano had a double double on Saturday afternoon, leading the Drovers to an important conference win over the Saint Gregory’s, topping the Cavaliers 63-56.

Medrano sunk seven buckets and went 9-for-10 from the charity stripe in the game on her way to 23 points. She also had 12 rebounds and four assists.

Paige Pulliam and Celeste Smith each had nine points and three assists in the game....

CHICKASHA – As the team’s only four-year starter, Tashina Ototivo has been through it all with the Drovers — and this season has held no exception to the gamut of highs and lows.
The season started off strong for the Drovers, who were 9-3 going into conference play. But the tough Sooner Athletic Conference slowed the season down — something Ototivo said they are working to overcome.

CHICKASHA – The OBU Bison came out on top of the Drovers in a Tuesday night battle at the USAO Fieldhouse.

USAO found itself struggling to keep up with the Bison, who made 54.4 percent of their shots on Tuesday night. The Drovers fell 79-46.

CHICKASHA – The Drover women battled hard and never gave up, but just couldn’t overcome the powerful No. 2 Lubbock Christian team.

Tough to defend, the Lady Chaps held up to their hype and shot 52 percent from the field in the game.

The Drovers, who scored 54 on the No. 2 team in the country, had 27 bench points as compared to the Chaps’ 23.
