The Drover soccer men win 2-0 in a shutout victory over Texas Wesleyan at Drover Pitch on Friday. The victory edges the Drovers to the top of the Sooner Athletic Conference standings with an overall record of 6-1 -- surpassing Rogers State.

David Otieno of Nairobi, Kenya gave the Drovers their first goal of the game at the 8:54 minute mark with an assist by Nial Crick. Otieno scored another goal at the 28:06 minute mark off an assist by Luke Pontin.

The Drover men were strong on defense -- allowing one shot on goal as they shut the gate on the Rams. The Drovers outshot Texas Wesleyan 30-3.

The Lady Drovers had back-to-back goals early in the game around the 26:00 minute mark. One goal was scored by Brittany Jay of Tulsa -- assisted by Taylor Fain of Edmond. For the second goal, Fain scored assisted by Jay.

Fain went on to score an unassisted goal at the 60:33 minute mark. The Drovers Calli Cooper of Norman scored off a penalty kick at 62:38 mark. A late goal by Jen Leidall of Del City -- assisted by Erin Coggan of Cedar Hill, Texas resulted in a shutout victory over the Rams.

The Drover women out shot the Rams 30-8 and held the Rams to only three shots on goal. They finished the game with a final score of 5-0.

The Drover women extend their overall record to 5-1 for the season and edge up to third place in the SAC. Both the men and women go on the road Sept. 25 against East Central.
