USAO soccer gets new recruit

Senior goalie Destiny Wilson might be graduating, but Coach Jimmy Hampton has an ace up his sleeve.

And her name is Addison Tipton.

The Metro Christian Academy senior Tipton recently committed to play soccer for the Drovers at goalkeeper next year.

The 5’8” athlete was showered with awards in high school. She was named Newcomer of the Year in 2007, and in 2008 and 2009, she was named Defensive Player of the Year, All-District and All-Metro Honorable Mention from the Tulsa World.

In addition, OKrankings.com ranked Tipton the No. 2 keeper in all the divisions in 2009.

In high school, she helped her team become regional champions in 2009, state runners-up in 2007, 2008 and 2009, and district champions in 2007 and 2008.

Tipton decided to come to USAO because of the strong art and soccer programs.

She is graduating from high school this year and will join the Drovers in the fall. She is planning to major in art at USAO.

She is the daughter of Steve and Cindy Tipton, of Tulsa.
