CHICKASHA – Originally from Louisiana, Chris Basco joined the USAO staff about a year ago, stepping in as the Drovers’ new athletic trainer and director of health services.
“I take care of all the Drover athletic programs from an injury standpoint, rehabilitation,” he said. “I guess my primary duty is to prevent, evaluate, treat and then rehabilitate any injuries we have here.”
Basco attends every home sporting event and is even present during daily practices.
In the mornings, he can be found in Health Services in Troutt Hall, but in the afternoons, he is in his new training room in the USAO Fieldhouse. Eager for a room big enough to serve all of USAO’s athletes, Basco pushed for the new facility.
“We’ve got a facility now that our athletes, students can do some serious physical therapy in,” he said. “I think everybody is so happy and satisfied that we have this room.”
