Almost mid-way through the season, both the men's and women's soccer teams at the University of Science and Arts have posted exceptional team records and high marks for individual players. The Drover men are 6-1 overall and the women are 5-1.

The Drover soccer men win 2-0 in a shutout victory over Texas Wesleyan at Drover Pitch on Friday. The victory edges the Drovers to the top of the Sooner Athletic Conference standings with an overall record of 6-1 -- surpassing Rogers State.

Both the USAO men’s and women’s soccer teams posted wins Saturday against the Saints of Our Lady of the Lake. USAO’s Calli Cooper was named this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the week.

CHICKASHA – Head coach Jimmy Hampton has been reunited with a former player, and USAO signed one of the top offensive players in the state. Tulsa transfer Taylor Fain signed a letter of intent to play for the Drovers Thursday giving the team another young scoring threat.

CHICKASHA – Head coach Jimmy Hampton announced the signing of nine women’s soccer players from across Oklahoma and Texas as part of the 2009 signing class. Hampton, the Director of Girls Coaching for the Edmond Soccer Club, signed three players from the ESC.

The signees from the ESC include Sam Dehart, a defender/forward from Union City, Katie Matuska, a goalkeeper from Broken Arrow, and Kaitlyn Witty, a midfielder from Mustang. All...
