USAO Regents Staff Achievement Awards

USAO Regents Staff Achievement Awards
The Regents' Staff Achievement Awards are designed to recognize the best employees among USAO’s General and Professional Staffs. Two types of awards are given for outstanding staff performance. These are 1) Staff Achievement Award (quarterly), and 2) Employee of the Year.

NATURE OF AWARD -- The Regents Staff Achievement Award is presented quarterly to one outstanding staff member. It consists of recognition by name in a display in Troutt Hall, a commemorative certificate, and a $300 cash award. The Employee of the Year Award is given to one outstanding staff member selected from among the year's Achievement Award honorees. It consists of recognition by name and picture in a display in Troutt Hall, a commemorative certificate, and an award of $500 approved annually by the USAO Board of Regents. The award is not considered part of the recipient's annual contract salary or fringe benefits.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE? -- You may nominate any member of the general staff or professional staff who has been employed at
USAO for at least two academic years and whose position is listed as regular, either full or part-time. A list of eligible  employees is available.

NOMINATING PROCEDURE -- All USAO personnel -- including members of the faculty, staff and administration, may nominate someone to receive the Regents Staff Achievement Award. The nomination form is valid for one year after it is received, so a nominee may receive the award up to a year after nomination. You may not nominate yourself or nominate the same person more than once a quarter. A committee of noneligible employees, appointed annually, will make selections based on the strength of the comments given on nomination forms.

Discuss the achievements and personal characteristics that distinguish this individual. Be specific. Selection is based on the strength of the nomination. Use other sheets if necessary.*
