Debra P. Holmes has more than 8 years of experience at a variety of colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma. Before coming to USAO, she has participated in professional, academic, and community theatre productions in the capacity of prop master, puppet designer/builder, lighting designer/tech, and scenic designer. She LOVES puppets! Debra received a masters of fine arts in scenography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a bachelors of arts in theatrical design from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. She is a member of Alpha Psi Omega, the national honorary drama society. Debra has worked with Live Arts of Charlottesville, VA; Encore Theatre Company and the Center Players in Elizabeth City, NC; Asheville Community Theatre in Asheville, NC; both the Arkansas & Virginia Shakespeare festivals in Conway, AR & Williamsburg, VA; and the Dance Theatre of Lynchburg in VA.
Debra is the technical theatre instructor and production designer for USAO. She teaches courses in technical theatre and supervises the build of technical aspects of the theatrical productions at USAO.
