Are we smart enough to know how smart animals are?

Frans de Waal is one of the world’s best-known primatologists who was named one of TIME Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential People in 2007. He has released multiple books on ape and chimpanzee interaction and the social norms surrounding their culture.

On Feb. 16, de Waal will serve as the keynote speaker for the 10th annual Emerson-Wier Liberal Arts Symposium. His address is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Te Ata Memorial Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

An entertaining and humorous fusion of bluegrass and hip-hop

For an evening full of laughs and delightful bluegrass music, the “backwoods” family band, The Cleverlys, is first-rate entertainment. Originating from a remote part of the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas and led by comedian Paul Harris, the group performs bluegrass music to many popular songs. From 60’s rock to modern pop, all blue-grass style, it’s a hit with fans of all ages. The Cleverlys show is sure to be a knee-slapper and a toe-tapper good time.

Join us in this year's Drover Difference Day where students, faculty and staff will spend the day volunteering throughout Chickasha in conjunction with various community organizations. In the past, these have included Ross Health Care, Chickasha Police Department, City of Chickasha, Resurrection House, YMCA, Grady County Historical Society, and more.
