Memorial service for Jean Davis, 90, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Davis died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at her home. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. Jean was born Sept. 6, 1922, in McAlester, to Eugene and Maltie Selby Farmer.


She graduated from McAlester High School and then attended the Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha. She also attended Hershey's Business School. She worked for the War Department during World War II. She married retired Col. Paul W. Davis in McAlester on July 6, 1945. He died May 14, 2000. She was an avid bridge player, traveling all over the country to compete in tournaments.


Jean made Duplicate Life Master in 1998. She attended the New Post Chapel on Fort Sill. She was a Cameron University President's Partner and Ambassador to the Percussive Arts Society. She founded the Salvation Army Ladies Auxilliary and was a member of the Humane Society. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dave M. and Deborah Davis, Lawton; two step-grandchildren: Timothy Goodman and his significant other, Renee Sadita, and Deanna and husband Rodney Vanover, all of Lawton; three step-great-grandchildren: Brynden Goodman, Lacey Alexander and Austin Alexander; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Farmer; and a sister, Doris Bratton. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
