Billy Wayne Freeman Services for Billy Wayne Freeman were held July 19 and July 20 at Amis-Kennard Funeral Home and at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens Chapel at Claremore. Freeman, 69, died July 16, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Reba Freeman and two grandsons. He was born Feb. 16, 1938, at Paris, Ark. He was a 1956 graduate of Muskogee High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Freeman married Wynema Thomas of Stillwell.

He joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1967 and earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Science and Arts in Oklahoma. He also served in the National Guard. He retired in 1997 from the highway hatrol after 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Nema, of the Broken Arrow home; daughter Leanne and husband Richard Kelsey of Claremore; son Billy and wife Danielle Freeman of Claremore; and two grandsons.
