Evelyn J. Lorenzen, M.D. died Nov. 15, 2004, in Moore, Okla. Services will be 10 a.m. Nov. 18 at Huber-Benson Funeral Home in El Reno with burial in El Reno Cemetery.

Dr. Lorenzen was born June 2, 1921 in El Reno.

She graduated from El Reno High School; attended University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha; received her Bachelor of Science from University of Oklahoma, P.H.D. in nutrition from Cornell University, M.D. from Illinois School of Medicine; and served her medical residency at New Orleans, LA.

She opened her medical practice as a pediatrician in 1954 in Houston, TX where she was a very well respected pediatrician specializing in children's nutrition until she retired in 1991.

She wrote a book about nutrition in which she delivered a lecture to physicians and residents in Puerto Rico.

Evelyn met many important people in her life including John Wayne and Eleanor Roosevelt. Her brilliance in pediatrics was greatly appreciated by all who used her as their doctor.

She was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Tuscany and W. James Tuscany; parents, Jens and Dorothy (Montgomery) Lorenzen; and a brother, Harry Lorenzen, Sr.

She is survived by a nephew, Harry Lorenzen, Jr., wife, Susan, and their son, Tyler all of Moore, OK; and a niece, Tana Cobb of Washington, D.C. and her twin daughters, Kelly of Philadelphia, PA and Tracy of Sedonia, AZ.
