CHICKASHA – High school artists across Oklahoma can win cash at the statewide Innovations art contest, but registration is due Feb. 28 at the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha.

USAO Nabs Tickets for Broadway Shows Starring David Hyde Pierce, Angela Lansbury

CHICKASHA – What do famous actors David Hyde Pierce and Angela Lansbury have in common? They’re each starring in runaway Broadway shows. As part of its annual spring New York City trip, the University of Science and Arts has secured tickets to “Curtains” starring Pierce and “Deuce” starring Lansbury, two of the hottest shows on Broadway.

State Collegiate Band Selects Four USAO Students

CHICKASHA – Each year, Oklahoma’s top 100 college student musicians are selected to perform in the All-Collegiate Honor Band. This year, four students from the University of Science and Arts made the cut, earning themselves a place of honor among their peers.

At an Oklahoma Music Educators Conference held in downtown Tulsa, the band showcased its statewide talent in January.

Dr. Stephen Weber, associate professor of music, was there for the performance.

Fees for USAO’s Italy Trip Due March 1


CHICKASHA – Renaissance artwork and authentic cuisine may seem like Italy’s calling cards, but the University of Science and Arts is out to prove that it’s all just a portion of the entire Italian experience. In May, USAO is hosting its annual tour of Italy with an invitation that extends beyond the campus to the general public.

Students Raise Money, Awareness with V-Day Campaign

CHICKASHA – Although most people recognize Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to buy flowers and candy for loved ones, a global movement known as “V-Day” is spreading a different kind of message throughout February: violence against women and girls must be stopped.

As part of the national V-Day College Campaign, students at the University of Science and Arts are planning several events and activities designed to raise awareness and funds for the Grady County Women’s Service and Family Resource Center.
