Fourteen students were honored recently for their academic achievements and service as they were initiated into Hypatia, USAO’s only campus-wide honor society.
The students were inducted during an awards luncheon attended by faculty, staff and family members March 26.
Civil War history enthusiasts will commemorate the end of the conflict with a special meeting at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma City Civil War Roundtable is scheduled to meet beginning at 7 p.m. on April 9 in the Regents Room.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshment will be served.
Campus and community members will have the opportunity to witness culture in action when the Inter-Tribal Heritage Club hosts its annual Spring Powwow beginning at 2 p.m. on April 4 in the USAO Fieldhouse.

A series of upcoming concerts showcasing the hard work of music students will contain at least two bittersweet notes as beloved faculty members direct their final performances at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
Exceptional first year students were honored March 25 as they were initiated into Alpha Lambda Delta – a national honor society for college freshmen.
The luncheon honored 30 students at the college.
“These students represent the best of our freshman class,” said Dr. Peter Thomas, associate professor of education/science and faculty advisor for the honor society. “We’re very proud of these students and their achievements.”
