Prospective Students Get Two Events in January

Think USAO may be the right college for you? Two new events this month provide prospective students with unique opportunities to get an inside look at the college.

The exclusive Scholars Retreats and the open-invitation U-Day event are designed to introduce USAO to high school students from across the state and beyond.

The USAO Scholars Retreat is scheduled Jan. 18-19. “This event is for the best and the brightest. We bring in students to sit in on a class or speak with a faculty member about their specific interest,“ said Kellee Johnson, admissions coordinator at USAO. “We invite only eight to 12 students – with their parents – to these retreats.”

Although the Scholars Retreat is for a small group, the U-Day introduces all prospective students and their families to the campus. U-Day is scheduled Jan. 31. “ This event is for all prospective students. We expect 100-150 people to attend. We encourage prospective students to bring their families and join us for this event that showcases what sets Oklahoma’s public liberal arts college apart from the rest.

“Prospective students and their families will enjoy music, improv, art and meeting professors at a departmental fair while touring campus. A catered lunch will be provided,” Johnson said.
